BIP International Staff Week 2023 - Skills for the Future

We are pleased to invite colleagues from our partner universities abroad to the International Staff Week at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor, which will be organized in March 2023.

The purpose of the BIP International Staff Week is to strengthen international research cooperation and exchange good practices and experiences within the lectures. The aim of this International Staff Week is to promote the idea of internationalization, increase staff mobility and consequently student mobility.

Skills for the future need to be embedded in the current concepts of higher education. But where are universities in this respect? Are they ready to meet the pressing challenges of our societies? The staff week aims to bring together all university staff members engaged or interested in this topic to learn new skills, discuss opportunities and challenges, and share experiences and best practices.

In addition, part of the International Staff Week will be organised in the framework of the International Conference on the Development of Organizational Science in Portorož. Participants in the International Staff Week are invited to submit an original research paper for oral presentation at the conference, free of charge. Papers presented at the conference will be published in the peer-reviewed conference proceedings. Participation at the conference with the paper is not a mandatory condition for the cooperation in the International Staff Mobility Week. Participation is only encouraged.

Kranj

For thousands of years the town of Kranj has enjoyed its strategic position. Located between two rivers on a conglomerate rock beneath the Alps, it has always been a lively centre where diverse ethnic groups would meet and later also people of various nations from all over the world. These encounters have influenced the architecture, the transport links and the temperament of Kranj.

Portorož

Portorož is well known as a party town, where you can have fun by the sea. However, this Slovenian coastal splendour has more than meets the eye.

Portorož has been known as the place of healing since the 13th century when the monks from the St. Laurence Monastery first used the sea water and brine for healing purposes. Ever since Portorož was home to many healing and wellness complexes, which to this day, use the healing properties of salt and the sea.
